Comrade Engine Overhaul
The major project for this winter's maintenance programme on COMRADE is a full overhaul of the Lister JP3 engine. Progress to date will be monitored via the photo record below:
Lister JP3 - strip down commences Steve and Dave with first rocker cover open

Brand new Lister pistons - made in 1961!! All liners fitted and rear piston and conrod located
New bearing shell fitted to conrod Centre piston - lining up conrod with gudgeon pin
Compressing the piston rings All new pistons and liners fitted
New full gasket set for each cylinder head Front cylinder head in place and centre gasket ready
Heads on, valve gear, inlet and exhaust manifolds fitted Turning engine over and bleeding the fuel lines
Checking tappet clearances on rear cylinder Rocker covers off to adjust remainder of tappet clearances
